JR. Shotgun Meets on Saturdays Beginning May 14th 1-3PM.

WSC's Junior Shotgun program is open to all children ages 8 to18 that are around a minimum of 48" tall. The program is intended to provide the necessary guidance for the recreational shooter who is interested in trap shooting purely for the enjoyment of shooting a shotgun.

The Jr. Shotgun program is an achievement program. A system of qualifying rounds and achievement levels were designed to provide a challenge for youth in trap achievement. Success at each level is dependent on the individual's skill and willingness to apply themselves. Each child can advance at his or her own pace, progressing to the next level after completing the previous level. We will follow the NRA Qualification for shotgun http://www.nrahq.org/education/training/marksmanship/shotgun.asp .

Our most important asset in the shooting sports, just as in life, is our youth. The WSC's Jr. Shotgun program promotes the sport of trap shooting with young people. It stresses qetting a shotgun in hand quickly (instead of boring the kid with lectures), yet doing so safely, and focuses on the positive aspects of the sport and safe gun handling.

Participants are welcome to bring their own shotgun and ammo, or we have equipment and ammo available. Eye and Ear protection are mandatory, bring your own or use ours. Parents need not be present, but are encouraged to be present and support their children though positive reinforcement.

Jr. Shotgun is held each Saturday beginning May 14, 2011 from 1 to 3 PM. Check our Events Calendar for specific dates and times. This program is open to members and the general public.

Fee: A single round of birds cost $2.00, shells are available for $5.00 per box. Introductory lessons are available for  $1.00 for 5 shots. Fee's includes use of shotguns and safety equipment.
