NRA Marksmanship Qualification Shooting is an informal, year-round
activity for youngsters and people of all ages.
Qualification shooting is an informal, year-round recreational shooting activity that provides incentive awards for developing and improving marksmanship skills. It's a drill. We set the standards; you meet the challenge! Progression is self-paced and scores are challenging but attainable. Performance is measured against established par scores and any shooter who meets or exceeds those scores is entitled to the corresponding recognition awards for that rating. It's an honor system!
Qualification shooting is the ideal way to develop and build shooting proficiency by progressing through each skill level, from Pro-Marksman through Distinguished Expert.
All Programs are conducted on Saturdays, check our
Event
Schedule for details.
The forms below are to be signed by the parent of a juvenile
shooter. If you are bringing your child, you may fill them out
at the club when you get there. If you are bringing a child
other than your own please have the parent sign the forms prior
to bringing them.
We will not be able to let them shoot unless we have the signed
forms.
A copy of the Federal Law requiring the Pistol Permission slips
is also attached.
We appreciate your compliance so that we can continue to offer
our program, which gives the young people the chance to learn
the safe handling of firearms and the basics of marksmanship.
Thank you for your cooperation.

This indoor program also uses the Sport Shooting and American Rifleman qualification courses. The course of fire in the qualification program introduces new shooters to the sport using the benchrest or prone-supported positions before progressing to Sitting,
Kneeling, and standing positions. These positions are designed to help shooters reinforce basic shooting fundamentals during early stages of development. The course of fire progresses from 3 shots, to 20 shots, to an optional 40 or 60 shots. The required number of shots in the course also increases in stages to help new shooters develop the strength and endurance necessary to complete a full course of fire. The course of fire for women in world championships is 40 shots; the course of fire for men in world championships is 60 shots. Qualification shooters have the option of qualifying for ratings using either the 40- or 60-shot course of fire. Air rifle qualification shooting is an excellent recreational and social activity for families, neighborhood groups, clubs, and leagues.
