The Department of Natural Resources and Environment says there are 11,742 bear licenses and 230 elk licenses available for the 2010 hunting seasons. Bear licenses are available for state residents and nonresidents in limited quantities. Only Michigan residents are eligible to apply for elk licenses. A $4 fee is charged at the time of application. Hunters may buy just one application for each species.
