All dates are Saturdays and start @ 10AM.
Any revolver, semi auto or break action pistol chambered for a pistol cartridge. Any ammo, lead or jacketed bullets.
We shoot a target that is 14"x14" square that has cards on one side. The side you shoot at is blank. We shoot a total of 5 matches or hands.
At the beginning of the match or hand each participant has a target at 25 yards (or closer if need be depending on the skill of the shooter) that has a number marked on the card side of the target. When the match director gives the command to load and then the commence fire command the shooter then fires until the required number of shots for that match are in scoring position on the target.
After the range has been called safe by the match director, the targets are collected and scored. After the scoring is complete all of the participants are invited to draw a poker chip that has a number written on one side from a coffee can. That number will be the number of the target that will be the participants poker hand for that match.
The winner of the match shares in 1/5th of the cash kitty up to a maximum of $10.00.
This process repeats until we have fired 5 matches.
This is great practice for shooting center of mass and to become familiar with your handgun. This gives the opportunity for novice handgun shooters to gain experience in proper safe handgun handling and marksmanship.
The cost of the poker shoot is $10.00.
